Description

Today, surveying is being revolutionized by innovative technologies such as laser scanning, but even the latest technology still struggles to meet the high standards of many industries. In my presentation, I will show how the integration of 3D scanning and CAD software can transform the conservation and restoration of historic buildings without compromising on the fundamentals and guidelines.

With over 37 years of experience in developing CAD solutions, we at Kempter GmbH have achieved a milestone with BauCaD and our latest products, morphcad and BauWolke.

morphcad, our small international software offshoot, enables deformation-compliant 3D modeling from a 3D measurement, even for complex and difficult structures. This means that the "wall" between 2D and 3D can finally come down, providing a precise and detailed record of the existing building, which makes the planning and implementation of any restoration work much easier.

BauWolke is our industry solution and offers, in addition to all the functions of morphcad, around 1,500 additional workflows and routines to solve industry-specific tasks. This is aimed directly at the specialist engineers involved in the renovation, but thanks to the deformation-compliant 3D modeling, monument protection is also simply included.

In the lecture, I will present practical application examples and explain how these tools help to increase accuracy and efficiency in heritage conservation. The goal must not be purely the new technology, but the technology must meet the requirements.

Let's take a look into the future of heritage conservation together and discover how 3D technologies and CAD software are ushering in a new era of heritage conservation.
