Gerd Meurer has been a specialist in earth building for 30 years and is Managing Director of WEM GmbH Flächenheizung und -kühlung. In addition to his activities as a speaker and "networker", he was a publicly appointed and sworn expert for earth building at the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts and Trades for many years. In 1999 and 2010, he was awarded the Federal Prize for Craftsmanship in the Preservation of Monuments. He is a member of the examination board and trainer for further training to become a "clay construction specialist" and a board member of the Dachverband Lehm e.V. (umbrella organization for clay construction).
